Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 Water Infrastructure Design Packages
Owen delivered three packages on works concurrently working with local and state government regulatory bodies, other design consultants, and public utility providers.
Coomera Connector Stage 1 – Civil Engineering
- Critical analysis of the available existing features (detail) survey data and transpose data into a single model including consultation with project Surveyors for advanced spatial establishment
- Preparation of federated (3D) model and completion of the subsurface – design integration clash analysis reporting
- Complete Temporary Works Design (TWD) to facilitate any non-standard construction methodologies necessary
- Complete the design of temporary bypass system to maintain the Asset Owner’s standard of supply (including water and sewer trunk mains)
- Supervision and certification (RPEQ) of the specific scope of works constructed
- Quality Assurance review of all scope of works constructed including preparation of As-Constructed documentation and the relevant certification (RPEQ)
Deep Sewer Design Analysis - Burleigh Heads QLD
Subsurface investigation scope management and critical analysis of results. Geotechnical investigation and results analysis for design integration of deep sewer construction in water charged ground.
Including: Pavement potential settlement assessment, trench box lateral earth pressure and suitable construction methodology.
Constrained Sewer Diversion TMR TN163 - Gold Coast Highway QLD
Design and construction phase services of sewer diversion to Gold Coast Highway including coordination with all government stakeholders. Design scope included selection of suitable GRP enveloper pipework, significant existing infrastructure allowance for necessary vertical clearances and allowance for future Light Rail corridor.
Trenchless Technology - Algester QLD
Design, supervision and certification of highly constrained infrastructure works, being trenchless construction of a new sewer main extension including a DN 400 (OD406) 6.4mm wall thick Mild Steel Jacking pipe. The installation procedure included drilling the pilot bore (OD355mm) by Vermeer Axis Laser Guided System, then following pilot bore, the guidance attachment with drill head (Auger Boring method) was followed with a DN400 bore(28mm overcut). The steel casing was progressively jacked into the drilled bore with a maximum Jacking force of 20T.

Rural Road Upgrading - Sarina QLD
Detailed design, construction supervision and contract administration of 360m of rural road upgrading including 3 cell culvert crossing. Pavement design amended on-site to allow for the ingress of groundwater from an upstream underground spring.
